Arcana Rising is an all inclusive 5 day convention in which participants will experience a saga of magic gone awry in multiple events at a beautiful castle setting near Denver, Colorado. The core of the convention is a five adventure story arc played using the Dungeons & Dragons rules. When not directly playing D&D, participants will have choices of several story related events hosted by our experienced DMs, professional rpg designers (current and former Wizards of the Coast Staff) and other industry veterans. As part of the all inclusive aspects of the convention guests will have catered meals every day including two Tavern Night events with live music and special performances.

The massive doors open and you enter an architectural masterpiece. Ahead lays the Great Hall with its soaring wooden arches and intricate cut-stone walls. To the left, a quiet study filled with treasures from world journeys. To the right, an expansive terrace offering magnificent views of towering mountains. This is a panorama you won’t soon forget. Hundreds of miles of plains, plateaus and pinnacles unfold, giving you a view all along the Front Range. Are you in Colorado or Faerûn?

Convention Details

Location

Cherokee Ranch and Castle, Sedalia (Denver) Colorado is a fantastic location that will immerse you into the Forgotten Realms. With multiple rooms and a gorgeous view this location will make Arcana Rising an event to remember.

Convention Dates

November, 2-6th. Fly in Wednesday November 2nd and have dinner with us. The opening ceremonies start at 6pm. Immerse yourself in the Realms Thursday, Friday, & Saturday. Fly out on Sunday after brunch and closing ceremonies, which end at 12pm.

All Inclusive

Aside from your travel to Denver and your alcohol, everything is included in your registration fee. This includes, transportation from Denver International Airport to the hotel, then 2 daily private bus trips to and from hotel and castle, hotel for 4 nights, catered food for every meal from Wednesday night to Sunday morning. Shuttle service will be available at anytime if you need to return to the hotel from the castle.

Small tables, participants are limited

The main hall in the castle only has room for 8 tables and we can fit another 2 in various corners of the castle. As a result, this event is limited to 50 participants seated at 10 tables. Tables will consist of 1 DM and 5 players for the single table events or 1 DM and 6 players for the interactive events. Become a patron now to ensure your place at this exclusive event.

Convention Mementos

We want your time at Arcana Rising to be memorable. To that end we’re going to load you up with some unique items. These items will include, but not be limited to, custom dice, poster map of Halruaa, and bottled lightning. (specifics to come with choice of mementos)

Side Quests

In addition to the 5 D&D adventures we’ll have a series of side-quests, short 1-2 hour puzzles, games, scavenger hunts, storytelling session, and more to give you a sense of the Realms.

Hotel

Stay at the Best Western Plus hotel near the convention site. Reserve a single king bed for yourself or share a double-queen room with a friend (you can specify during registration), or we’ll assign you a roommate.

Transportation

Once you arrive at the Denver International Airport everything will be on us (except some alcohol!). Join fellow con goers and ride in a private bus to the hotel for check in then a quick 15 minute ride to the castle. Every morning a bus will take you to the convention site and take you back home. Should you need to return to the hotel during the day a van will be available for shuttling to the hotel if needed.

Food/Tavern Nights

We have worked with our catering partner to provide meals fit for royalty. Feast in the style of the Realms, have you ever had roasted cockatice or pulled gorgon? Well now you can! Delicious food will be catered for every meal while you’re with us.

Two of the evenings will be spent eating, drinking, and being entertained by the best bards in the Realms. Eat, drink, and be merry.

Please provide us with diet requirements during registration to ensure you get what you need to stay healthy. (specifics to come with choice of dishes for some meals)

Arcana Rising Halruaa Saga

AR06 Devious Arcana

Across Faerun the Wild Lightning malady has caused havoc, spreading faster than it can be cured. A plot to infiltrate kingdoms and organizations with awakened spells threatens to tear apart the fabric of civilization across the continent. Can you stop this devious arcana? A 4 hour adventure for characters of levels 5-10.

AR07 Malevolent Arcana - Interactive

The Lightning Cabal and their spell minions have taken over Talathgard, the fortress that defends the high temple of Mystra in Halruaa. From behind Talathgard’s fortification they send legions of Wild Lightning tainted spellswords to take over Halruaa. Can you overtake the Lightning Cabal and their malevolent arcana? A multi-table 4 hour interactive adventure for characters of levels 5-10.

AR08 Insidious Arcana

Awakened spells have spread into Halruaa, a kingdom of magic. The Lightning Cabal angles to use these sentient spells to harness the Wild Lightning and overtake the Council of Elders. Can you prevent the spread of this insidious arcana? A 4 hour adventure for characters of levels 5-10.

AR09 Temporal Arcana

In a forgotten tomb complex the wizard Random and the Lightning Cabal prepare a ritual that promises to put all of the magical power of Halruaa into their hands. It may be too late to stop them, but with powerful wizards at your side there’s no such thing as “too late”. Can you use temporal arcana to travel through time and stop Random? A 4 hour adventure for characters of levels 5-10.

AR10 Catastrophic Arcana - Interactive

In a final bid to control the Wild Lightning the Lightning Cabal attempts to elevate the wizard Random in to a god of wild magic. To do so they must drain the magic of Halruaa and channel it into their messiah. Can your heroes divert this catastrophic arcana? A multi-table 4 hour interactive adventure for characters of levels 5-10.
