Arcana Rising Design & Development Team

The Arcana Rising Design & Development team was formed from the cream of the organized play and wider D&D community. Each member has strengths that when combined make the Arcana Rising a force to be reckoned with. Each designer will be in attendance at the Arcana Rising convention running their adventures or helping in the administration of the interactive they designed.

Robert Adducci

Robert Adducci

Convention Host, Lead Designer and Developer

Robert Adducci is the Community Manager for the D&D Adventurers League, Fantasy Grounds, an RPG community organizer and helps out games stores and conventions in the Denver area with social media and community management. Robert has been the co-organizer for D&D for the past several years for GenghisCon and Tacticon in Denver as well as the primary D&D organizer at Conclave of Gamers for the past two years. He is a die-hard Dark Sun fan and the founder of the Burnt World of Athas website (Athas.org). Robert was born in the deserts of Athas, aka Phoenix, AZ, but now lives in the cool climate of Colorado with his wife, a new little adventurer, and two animal companions.

Greg Marks

Greg Marks

Designer and Developer, Dungeon Master

Greg Marks is an evil mastermind directing his criminal army of precocious felines from the birthplace of gaming: Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He and his cat minions have worked on products for every edition of Dungeons and Dragons and written too many adventures for organized play campaigns to count. He has administered several OP campaigns and is currently the Associate Resource Manager for D&D Adventurers League. Greg and his cats have written for Dragon and Dungeon Magazines, Fantasy Flight Games’ Midnight setting, Raging Swan Press, and Kobold Press. When DMing, Greg says he loves to weave a memorable story, whether the players prefer challenging combats or lots of social interaction.

Teos Abadia is a frequent freelance author and developer for Wizards of the Coast. Teos has worked extensively with organized play programs for over 15 years, including as an administrator for the successful Ashes of Athas organized play campaign. Shawn‘s professional design and editing work in the roleplaying game industry has spanned 15 years and over 2 million words of content. His Dungeons & Dragons work for Wizards of the Coast has ranged from 3rd to 5th edition, showing up in sourcebooks, adventures, articles, D&D Encounters seasons, and Organized Play administration. He has been a driving force in many Organized Play programs, and has written or edited material for RPG companies such as Kobold Press, Goodman Games, Mongoose Publishing, and Kenzer & Co.

Mike Shea is the writer of the Dungeons and Dragons blog Sly Flourish and the author of the Lazy Dungeon Master. Mike has also freelanced with Sasquach Games, Kobold Press, Fire Opal Media, and Wizards of the Coast on titles such as Vault of the Dracolich, Primeval Thule, the Book of Lairs, the Drowned Tower, and Echo and Gauntlet. Mike lives with his geek gamer wife Michelle and their fiendish dire warg Jebu in Northern Virginia.
Chris Sims

Chris Sims

Editor, Dungeon Master

Chris is a game creator who has worked on d20 and Dungeons & Dragons since 2002. He started at Wizards of the Coast as a card editor in 2005, focusing on Duel Masters and doing a little on Magic: the Gathering and other games. By 2006, he was neck deep in D&D, and his roles in RPG R&D have included designer, developer, editor, and producer. He has also been involved in organized and convention play, including the Ashes of Athas campaign. Chris is currently a freelancer, writing and editing material for tabletop games and video games.

Jay Africa

Jay Africa

Graphic Designer, Dungeon Master

Jay Africa is the D&D Adventurers League US Far West Regional Coordinator.  He is also a graphic designer who has worked on an assortment of materials for the league.  Jay lives in the Greater Los Angeles Metro community, where he DMs for a variety of stores and conventions.  He moderates Club TPK: the Los Angeles Dungeon Masters’ Guild, under which he and his fellow DMs run “Parting the Veil”, training seminars for DMs of all experience levels.  When he isn’t playing D&D, planning D&D events, or working on D&D-related material, Jayalso designs for the stage and is a sometimes-musician. He brings theatricality to his tables when DMing, drawing upon his training as an actor to bring NPCs and monsters to life.
